Scenario based learning
Topic: Challenges facing peace negotiations.
Tools used: PowerPoint; Padlet; Google Docs.
Challenge and Solution
Challenge:
Evaluation data from previous work showed that learners found it difficult to incorporate different perspectives and include necessary critical analysis into their written work, thus they were unable to reach the top grades in their Global Politics course.
Solution:
The solution was to use a constructivist approach and design a scenario-based learning experience that would focus the learners on different perspectives and critical analysis of the topic. Note that learners are not provided with specific choices within this scenario to enable a much more comprehensive and nuanced consideration of the available options.
