Challenge and Solution
Challenge:
The objective of this short course was for provide learners with knowledge about the correct ways in which to store certain fruits and vegetables in order to reduce food waste.
Solution:
The design solution was to use a cognitive approach and produce a short e-Learning course with a custom menu. The custom menu had 3 options: learn, practice, quiz. This provides:
Learner choice in how the information is consumed, thereby increasing engagement.
Short chunks of information presented at any one time in order to prevent cognitive overload.
A structure that reinforces learning through a drag and drop practice exercise, followed by a short quiz.
The final product was developed on Storyline 360 using variables and conditions in order to ensure that:
The quiz remained locked on the custom menu until the learning and practice sections were completed in full successfully.
The course was personalized with the participant’s name included in the results screen.
